Description:

The Dissolved Oxygen Chemical Test Kit-100 are high quality reagents that are pre-measured, allowing for users to achieve fast and accurate dissolved oxygen measurements with the chemical test kit. The process employs a modified Winkler titration method to ascertain the concentration of dissolved oxygen.
When determining the levels of dissolved oxygen, manganous ions interact with oxygen in the presence of potassium hydroxide to develop a precipitate of manganese oxide. The test includes an azide to block any nitrite ions from disrupting the measurement. The reaction of the manganese oxide hydroxide with an added acid leads to the conversion of iodide to iodine. The resulting amount of iodine is equal to the oxygen content in the sample, allowing the iodine concentration to be determined by titrating against thiosulfate ions, which change the iodine back to iodide ions. The change in color from blue to clear denotes the titration's endpoint. The volume of titrant used to attain this endpoint corresponds to the dissolved oxygen concentration, measured in mg/L O2. These reagents are formulated for use with samples anticipated to have a dissolved oxygen range between 0.0 and 10.0 mg/L O2.
