Reactivity:

This ELISA reacted with all Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. phaseoli (Xaph) solates tested. Reaction of this test is moderately strong. Optical Density at 405nm is in a range of 0.400 - 1.600 depending on the bacterial titers in thesamples tested.

Sensitivity:

Sensitivity of the ELISA is relatively high. The bacterium can be consistently detected in infected plant tissues diluted at1:270 - 1:810.

Specificity:

This test system reacts negatively with Acidovoraxavenae subsp. citrulli, Clavibacter flaccumfaciens, C.michiganensis subsp. insidiosus, C. m. subsp. michiganensis,C. m. subsp. nebraskensis, C. m. subsp. sepedonicus, C. m. subsp. tessellarius,Erwinia carotovora subsp. atroseptica, E.c. subsp. carotovora, Erwinia chrysanthemi, E.stewartii, Pseudomonas syringae pv. phaseolicola, P.s. pv. syringae, Ralstonia solanacearum, Xanthomonas campestris pv.armoraciae, X. c. pv. campestris, X.c. pv. citri, X. c. pv. dieffenbachiae,and X. c. pv. vesicatoria. There is no cross reactionwith healthy plant tissues. Background is very low on all of the negativecontrol wells.
