Description:

Colorimetric tests are used to gauge the fertility of soil through the nitrogen, phosphorus, and pH tests. A specific color emerges during these tests, the intensity of which corresponds to the fertility level of the soil. The color intensity needs to be compared to a predetermined color card to establish the fertility level.
Nitrate-nitrogen (NO3--N) concentration is determined by the use of reagents following the Ned method for nitrogen. The reagents are designed for use with samples to provide a general indication of nitrogen content, ranging from trace amounts to high levels.
Phosphorus pentoxide (P2O5) concentration is tested using reagents following the ascorbic acid method for phosphorus. These reagents are intended for use with samples to give an overall indication of phosphorus content, ranging from trace amounts to high levels.
The colorimetric indicator method is deployed for the pH test using relevant reagents, designed for use with soil samples projected to have a pH range of 4 to 9.
The potassium (K2O) test is a turbidimetric test. The test will cause turbidity in the presence of potassium in a soil sample, and a blue color will also emerge to assist in interpretation of the test result. The evolved color needs to be compared to the color card provided for evaluation of potassium content.
The tetraphenylborate method is utilized for the potassium test via designated reagents, designed for use with samples to broadly indicate the potassium content from trace amounts to high levels.

The NPK Soil Chemical Test Kit Replacement Reagents are replacement reagents for the determination of nitrogen, phosphorus, pH, and potassium with the NPK Soil Chemical Test Kit. There are enough reagents for approximately 25 tests for each parameter to be used with the test kit. These high quality reagents are manufactured in our state-of-the-art facility and are clearly marked with the lot number and expiration date on each packet for traceability.
