Description:

Fluorometric Cell Viability Kit II is intented for the reliable fluorometric determination of viable cell numbers. It utilizes the cell membrane-permeable, non-fluorescent dye Calcein-AM that is hydrolyzed by esterases to the cell membrane-impermeable green-fluorescent Calcein. Since esterases are only active in viable cells, the amount of Calcein-AM hydrolyzed by cellular esterases is directly proportional to the number of viable cells in culture.
