The test detects all known isolates of BCMV. Reaction of the ELISA is very strong. Optical Density at 405nm is in a range of 1.800 - 2.800 depending on the virus titer in the samples tested.

Sensitivity:

Sensitivity of the ELISA is very high. The virus can be consistentlydetected in infected plant tissues diluted at1:2430.

Specificity:

This test does cross-react or partially cross-reactwith other potyviruses. There is no crossreaction with healthy plant tissues such as bean and cowpea. Background isvery low on all of thenegative control wells.
